We had a lovely stay at this hotel, which is perfectly located for walks (there's a circular trail that starts right outside), exploring the town, and just a short drive to Stow-on-the-Wold etc,. Dinner was delicious, with excellent gluten-free and vegan options, and breakfast offered plenty of choice. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The only downside was the noise from the room above, which continued late into the night. Overall, a good experience.

The hotel and gardens are decorated and maintained so beautifully and the hotel is comfortable, warm and cosy throughout. The Christmas decorations and roaring fires were so lovely in a cold December. All the staff across Reception, the Bar, the Restaurant etc were an absolute delight. The breakfasts were also delicious. We took our 6-month old puppy and there were many sweet touches for him such as as a dog bed and bowl ready in the room and a 'doggy sausage' at breakfast each morning. We were in a newly refurbished Cotswold double and it was decorated beautifully and was very comfortable. The only slight downside is that, likely because it's such an old building, the walls are very thin so you can hear your neighbours very clearly. This is the only reason i haven't given it the full 5 stars (I would give this 4.5 stars if Google allowed). It wouldn't stop me staying here again, I'd just take ear plugs next time. Brilliant location to explore Bourton on Water, Daylesford, Broadways, the Slaughters etc. Highly recommend staying here.

Went for Sunday lunch, save your money and go somewhere else or make your own. Slow service, one floret of cauliflower with barely any cheese, lukewarm potatoes and lacklustre beef. Lovely building in a great location and this is what they’re trading off.

Great... well worth checking if any weddings etc are on as the noise will reach the bedroom .

Very nice hotel, nicely decorated. The staff from reception to restaurant was super, really nice and helpful. Room was cozy with hot towels and a sélection of tea and coffee. The restaurant food was delicious and the breakfast as well with a portion more than generous.

Such an amazing staff who all take pride in their work. My room was very comfortable and within walking distance to several restaurants and shops

A gorgeous sixteenth century hotel right on the high street in the heart of the village. There is plenty of parking around the back, and this does allow you to walk through the beautiful garden, and if weather permits, a drink and relax outside. There is a lovely lounge bar area with lots of historic features to admire. In fact, the whole hotel is steeped in history and has been lovingly restored to a high standard. Lots of nooks and crannies with comfy sofas where lovers can sit and quietly chat. Rooms are gorgeous, and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and very welcoming. A must-go place if you are visiting this lovely village.

Attended here in the summer for my friend’s wedding. Gorgeous venue & staff made the day spectacular and memorable. I have to say staff were all helpful & made sure all our requirements were met. The breakfast is amazing and the room we stayed in was lovely inside and had gorgeous decor.

Worst stay in decades. A wedding took place below our room from 6-12:30 PM. Deafening techno music played non-stop. You could feel it in your chest; it vibrated the furniture. To be clear, I reserved a month ago. The day after they accepted my payment, they sent me a note notifying me of a wedding taking place at the Inn and music would be playing until 12:30 and that I would hear music from my room. So on one hand, I should have been more proactive. I assumed it would be light noise that I might hear from a distance and the email was just an extra cautious courtesy. This is the hospitality business - and I assumed they would not book a room that is literally unusable. My issue is they should never allowed anyone to book those room above the reception. Or at the time of booking there should have been CLEARLY displayed red flag/blinking lights on their reservation systems - warnings that clearly convey that this room sits above a thin ceiling and there will be earth shattering techno music. You will not be able to talk, sleep or exist until 12:30. Or how about just not reserve horrible rooms in the first place? In the morning I expressed my disappointment and they offered to comp our drinks. Since we did not have any drinks added to our room - this just was another disappointment. The room minus the audio was lovely and clean but I question any establishment that is OK with taking someone's money for the experience we had. Cost £290.00 - sleeping at a bathroom in a rock concert would have been a more enjoyable experience.

I would like to warn anyone making reservations at this hotel. We made reservations and had to cancel months prior to their cutoff date and they have refused to refund our full deposit. They were extremely rude and when we asked to speak with the General Manager we were told he was too busy. They agreed to refund two of our four nights but refused to refund the full amount even though we canceled our reservation in July for a September stay. We provided the hotel with their cancellation number and the email from them confirming the cancellation. They report a three day in advance cancellation for a full refund. Please beware. This hotel was not at all ethical and certainly dishonest in their practices. There are a number of great hotels in the area to risk a very bad experience.

Extremely convenient for a train n walk visitor, being a mere 15 min walk (with roller luggage) from the train station, well served by buses, across the street from the Westgate Mall (with lots of shops and restaurants), and short walks from the Visitor Center on Btoad St, which served as thr departure point for most guided tours. Best were the extended breakfast hours (the restaurant itself is open 24x7), efficient service (staffed by the same people who tend the restaurant), and nicely proportioned, very clean rooms. The relatively corporate approach (this is a chain) made things very predictable and easy, which we really appreciated after 10 days of quirky B&B hosts, small rooms & constraining hours. The only quibble we had was the quality of the fruits - while they were highly desirable berries, all had clearly been frozen. Espresso machines - no fresh brews of drip or pressed coffees.

Every time we come here for a drink there's always a wedding here and trying to get served at bar takes forever. But when Wedding attendees disappear , the bar area is deathly silent- it desperately needs some background music to add to the ambience . It's either all or nothing at this hotel .

Can't comment on rooms as I did not stay here. I came in with my family today (bank holiday monday) for a quiet drink as we have never been to this place before, so we thought we'd try it. First impressions were that it was decked out nicely, but on the verge of pretentious. There was no one at the bar to greet us and we waited patiently for almost 5 minutes with a member of staff in clear sight of us nearby. During this time, a lady at a table close to the bar chose to stare down my wife, for some unknown reason, making her feel very uncomfortable. The atmosphere in the bar of this hotel had less life than a stagnant pond, and with the appaling absence of service, we left and went back to another place in the town that is far more welcoming and has staff that tend to their customers when they walk in the door. I will never set foot in here again.

Good if you like posh environment. Poor if you like chill and comfortable environment. Food ok in taste, but very low value for its very high cost (e.g. 8£ for 250ml of Pepsi or for a bottle of water, be careful there is an extra 10% not visible or not easily visible on the menus, there are two menus, one with decently expensive prices and one with very expensive prices).

This is an awesome wedding venue. I have visited a few times now and I always have a great experience. There’s load of spots for beautiful photos for the couples …which is always important and the town centre location gives a unique opportunity for some breathtaking shots too. Love it!
